Legendary returns at Download Festival 2014

Exiting news for all metal fans! Now in its 12th year this weekend's Download Festival at Donington Park has brought many legends of rock and metal out of obscurity or one hiatus or another, and back on stage in front of their diehard fans. This year the legendary awesome mathcore  band SikTh  will reunite to perform at Download Festival 2014 and this time for real after six years of deafening silence.  Earlier this year the prog/tech-metallers  announced that there is a new album on the way. SikTh’s Dan Weller said about the comeback: "We've always said that one day we would get SikTh back together and do another show and [this] year just feels like the right time to stop the talking and do it. To be honest we really miss playing those songs. Our fans have been so loyal so it's time to give them something back. We played Download in 2003 and 2006 so it seemed the obvious place for us to make a return."  SikTh headline the Red Bull Studio stage on Saturday night, 21:55 - 22:40.

In another eagerly anticipated return to Donnington, The Wildhearts will perform at Download for the first time since 2008. The guitarist CJ added: “Well they just can't get rid of us. It's only 20 years since we first played Donington and in 2008 they turned the power off on us. Who knows what will happen this year...Bring it on!"  Wildhearts play the Zippo Encore Stage at 18:15 on Saturday evening, just before Twisted Sister and Status Quo!  Not content with just one performance, Ginger Wildheart headlines the Jagermeister Acoustic stage at 20:25 on the same night.

Phoenix Music is proud to have both bands as part of our diverse catalogue! Warm up for the weekend with some smashing guitar riffs from SikTh here. Listen to The Wildhearts here.
