Neo Records was a highly respected british independent dance label set up by Eddie Gordon in 1998. It enjoyed five years of international success with hits such as ‘Sandstorm’ – Darude which went on to become the biggest selling dance track at the turn of the millennium. The label also had success with ‘Nervous Breakdown’ – The Shrink, ‘Diving Faces’ – Liquid Child and ‘Synaesthesia’ – Thrillseekers and had over 120 releases.
Unusually for such a trance-orientated label, Neo also signed and developed artists – most notably ‘Olmec Heads’ and ‘Rhythm Masters’. The latter had European and American success with ‘Ghetto’ and ‘Underground’ from the album ‘Disconnect Your Head’.
Label highlights include: Darude’s artist album ‘Before The Storm’; the best of the label’s trance on ‘I Love Trance’ compilation; and the excellent house ‘Retro’ series.
Neo Records was the first label bought by PMI back in 2004.
