July 2010: WAGS album. The team may be rubbish but no-one can beat our line-up of WAGS! Our tongue in cheek take on the World Cup album with some classic up-beat tunes in available at iTunes and all good stores.

June 2010: It's been a busy time for our sync department. We are delighted to have a track in the new Jonah Hill and Russell Brand movie "Get Him To The Greek". Released on June 10th, it features the highly appropriate Dougal & Gammer track "F*ck Me I'm Famous". http://www.gethimtothegreek.net

We have also secured a high profile advertising campaign featuring Soul Patrol's "Chocolate". Full details to be announced soon.

March 2010: Westbury to administer Jetstar catalogue.
Phoenix Music International has appointed leading independent publisher Westbury Music to administer their Jet Star and JS Music catalogues. John Carnell, PMI’s Director of Business Development, said "Westbury were the obvious choice for us with their unrivalled knowledge of Reggae music and writers and their passion for the genre. We are looking forward to working with them on this exciting catalogue". Felix Hines, Westbury’s Managing Director, commented "Jet Star is steeped in the richest reggae history, so to bring the catalogue to its natural home is an honour. We look forward to working with the many gems, and to giving the catalogue the administrative and creative attention it deserves".

Azuli: PMI is delighted to announce the purchase of the Azuli catalogue. Central to the birth and evolution of house music in the UK, Azuli has had both worldwide chart hits and put together some of the most sought aftermix and compilation series in ‘dance’ music.

November 2009: Following David Guetta’s recent international success, PMI have licensed the classic “Love Don’t Let Me Go (Walking Away)” by David Guetta vs The Egg to Positiva (EMI).

October 2009: Some months ago Right Said Fred approached PMI and informed us of their long held desire to control all rights in their music. After many years in the industry, they wanted full artistic and business control of their careers.

Following a period of negotiation a settlement was reached and, as of 2nd October 2009, all rights that were formally controlled by Gut Records and more latterly by Phoenix Music International Ltd were returned to Right Said Fred.

We wish the band every success in the future.

August 2009: We have added hundreds of top quality recordings to our classical catalogue with the purchase of Collins Classics from Pinnacle Entertainment Ltd. Recordings include Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Brahms “Violin Concerto” by the London Symphony Orchestra and the Prokofiev “String Quartets” by the Britten Quartet. We plan to re-release the entire catalogue.

July 2009: PMI's commitment to releasing high quality catalogue packages continues with "Reggae Warriors", a retrospective of Aswad's most memorable 1990s hits.

July 2009: On July 6th, Demon Music is releasing a 2 CD deluxe edition of Fightstar's "One Day Son This Will All Be Yours" on their Edsel label. More details here. This is the first in a series of high quality re-packaged albums from our catalogue as part of our deal with Demon Music Group.

May 2009: BREAKING NEWS: PMI has acquired the rights in Jetstar Music. As the UK's leading reggae label for many years, Jetstar is probably most famous for its': Reggae Hits, Reggae Max and Lovers Rock series, in addition to a wealth of published titles. We are looking forward to working with the artist and writers in a new chapter in the Jetstar story.

April 2009: PMI are pleased to welcome Max Bloom as a consultant. With his wealth of industry experience, Max will be working specifically with licensing in the Southern hemisphere, sync licensing and new product development.

March 2009: PMI have acquired the rights in The Music Gallery catalogue – famous for the use of its music on the Survival wildlife programme and other TV themes.

February 2009: PMI have signed a non-exclusive deal with the Demon Music Group to represent the Gut Records catalogue in Europe. As the leading UK Independent Demon are the ideal partner to help exploit this diverse and exciting catalogue.

Gut has been a highly regarded independent for over 15 years from the early days of launching the careers of Right Said Fred and Space, through Tom Jones “Reload” project and Sikth, to the recent huge success of the Gusto dance imprint. We are looking forward to working with such great artists and writers.
