ABOUT
Hull-based duo Fila Brazillia, formed in 1990 by Steve Cobby and David McSherry, is the most popular act from the Pork Recordings label. Their debut single "Mermaids" gained acclaim for its innovative fusion of funk, dub, house, hip-hop, and acid jazz. Following this, they released several influential albums like "Old Codes / New Chaos," "Maim That Tune," and "Black Market Gardening," helping establish Pork Recordings' reputation.
Their later works incorporated pop and drum'n'bass, and they became known for remixes of artists like Lamb, the Orb, Busta Rhymes, and DJ Food. In the 2000s, they released "Another Late Night" (2001), "Jump Leads" (2002), and two albums in 2004 ("The Life and Times of Phoebus Brumal" and "Dicks"), along with "Another Fine Mess." Recent releases include "MMXX" (2020) and "Beatless" (2023), on their own FBRA label.
