ABOUT

Robert Gallagher is a British musician, songwriter, and DJ with a rich and varied career spanning from the late 1980s to the present. As the frontman of Galliano, he played a pivotal role in pioneering the acid jazz genre, blending jazz, funk, soul, and hip-hop into a distinctive sound. The band released several influential albums, including "In Pursuit of the 13th Note" (1991) and "The Plot Thickens" (1994), known for their groovy rhythms and socially conscious lyrics.

Since 2000, Gallagher has reinvented himself as Earl Zinger, experimenting with a wide range of musical styles, including trip-hop, jazz, dub, and electronic music, often with a satirical or humorous edge. His debut album as Earl Zinger, "Put Your Phazers on Stun Throw Your Health Food Skyward" (2001), showcases his eclectic approach. Gallagher has collaborated with a wide array of artists, such as Jazzanova, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Kyoto Jazz Massive, and Gilles Peterson, further cementing his status as a dynamic and innovative figure in the music world.
