ABOUT

Formed in 1989 by brothers Fred and Richard Fairbrass, Right Said Fred rose from the South London music scene to become one of the UK’s most enduring pop exports. Prior to the band’s breakthrough, Richard worked as a session bassist for artists including David Bowie and Boy George, while Fred toured with Bob Dylan.

Their signature single, “I’m Too Sexy” (1991), became a global phenomenon - topping the US Billboard Hot 100 and reaching No. 2 in the UK - establishing an instantly recognisable hook and tongue-in-cheek style that would define the band’s public image. Their debut album, Up, hit No. 1 in the UK and the band went on to sell over 25 million records worldwide, achieving No. 1 status in more than 30 countries.

Beyond their early commercial success, Right Said Fred have continued to write, record and perform with a playful, self-aware approach to pop. Their songwriting legacy includes co-writer credits on the 2017 Taylor Swift single “Look What You Made Me Do” and ongoing global touring.
