About

Space is a British alternative rock band formed in Liverpool in 1993. They emerged during the Britpop era but carved out a distinctive niche with their eclectic sound that blended elements of rock, pop, and electronic music. The band's lineup has evolved over the years, but its core members have included Tommy Scott (vocals, guitar), Jamie Murphy (guitar, keyboards), and Franny Griffiths (keyboards).

Space gained attention with their debut single "Money" in 1995, which was followed by their breakthrough hit "Female of the Species" in 1996. The latter became a chart success and remains one of their most recognizable songs. Space's music often features catchy melodies, quirky lyrics, and a playful sense of experimentation. They're known for incorporating elements of psychedelia, glam rock, and electronica into their sound, creating a unique sonic identity.

Throughout their career, Space has released several albums, including "Spiders" (1996), "Tin Planet" (1998), and "Suburban Rock 'n' Roll" (2004). While they haven't achieved the same level of commercial success as some of their Britpop contemporaries, Space has maintained a dedicated fan base and continues to tour and release new music. Their eclectic style and innovative approach to songwriting have earned them a respected place in the British music scene.
